The Znojemský hrozen Festival (the Festival hereafter) is an international competition of documentary and entertainment television programmes and radio programmes focused on gastronomy and on lifestyle connected with gastronomy.
The Festival has been an integral part of international cultural events. The Festival also significantly contributes to the presentation of Znojmo and the South Moravian Region.
§1
The Festival is an annual international competition of television and radio production of all genres focused on gastronomy and food.
The Festival is also a competition of commercials focused on culinary products and services.
The aim of the Festival is to cultivate art of eating and fine beverages enjoying, as well as to learn about history and culinary traditions of different nations.
The Festival also offers a space for creative discussions among participating artists, popularizes their work and contributes to better understanding of different cultural and linguistic areas.
The Festival is open to television and radio companies, film producers, independent producers and individual authors.

The organizer of the Festival is non-profit organization Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s. with registered place of business at Husitská 1, 669 02 Znojmo, Company ID: 269 17 319. Financial management of the Festival is provided by Moravsko-český hrozen s. r. o. with registered place of business at Nad Opatovem 2140/2, 149 00 Praha 11, Company ID: 499 66 481, VAT number: CZ 499 66 481.
Fundamental decisions on the Festival are made by the Board of Directors of Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s. The Board of Directors manages preparation and realization of the Festival, appoints and recalls the director of the Festival and on his proposal appoints and recalls members of the Organizational Committee.
Executive power for the Festival has the Organizational Committee, headed by the director of the Festival, who is responsible to the Board of Directors.
The Festival is represented by the chairman of the Board of Directors of Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s. and by the director of the Festival.
The Festival is prepared in conjunction with television and radio companies in the Czech Republic and abroad, and with advertising associations in the Czech Republic.
Financial partnership with the Festival is open to any company or organization that agrees with these statutes and participates in the Festival organizationally and financially.
All co-organizers, financial and medial partners attend the festival in agreed scope
and in accordance with relevant contracts.
§3
The Festival collects, evaluates and awards the best documentary, journalistic, entertaining and educational programmes and commercials based on subjects of various sections of the competition.
The competition consists of following categories:
- TV commentaries, documentaries, educational and entertainment programmes
– Programmes on cooking
– Culinary geography
– Programmes on lifestyle connected with culture of drinking and eating
– Programmes focused on gastronomy product
– Programmes focused on healthy nourishment - Radio commentaries, documentaries, educational and entertainment programmes
– Programmes on cooking
– Culinary geography
– Programmes on lifestyle connected with culture of drinking and eating
– Programmes focused on gastronomy product
– Programmes focused on healthy nourishment - Commercial spots focused on gastronomy
– Alcoholic beverages – beer
– Alcoholic beverages – wine and others
– Soft drinks
– Food products

The Festival is governed by the Board of Directors of Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s. and the Organizational Committee.
The Board of Directors of Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s. manages preparation and realization of the Festival and is the supreme executive body of the Festival.
The company Moravsko-český Hrozen, s. r. o. shall, upon the authorization by the Znojemský Hrozen o.p.s., be the party to financial and media partners in economic and organizational matters.
§5
Competition programmes are evaluated by expert juries of the Festival.
The organizers, upon recommendations of expert juries, award the following prizes:
a) Znojemský Hrozen (The Znojmo Grape) – the Main Prize of the Festival and the Prize of the Minister for Agriculture of Czech Republic;
b) The Golden, Silver and Bronze Grapes;
c) The Prize of the Minister for Regional Development;
d) The Prize of the Ministry of Health Service
d) The Prize of the South Moravian Region
e) The Prize of City of Znojmo
f) Honorable mentions and Special awards
g) other awards from co-organizing companies and organizations.
Juries have the right to not to award some prizes. Prizes are indivisible. A prize cannot be awarded to any programme whose author is a member of the jury.
The Znojmo Grape, as the main prize of the Festival, is awarded independently of competition categories.
§6
The Festival takes place every year in Znojmo, the Czech Republic. In year 2013 in the days of 17th - 19th October.
§7
The program of the Festival consists of:
- Projections and auditions of selected competition programmes pursuant to the conditions laid down by the statutes (see §3 and §8);
- Public projections - previews of commentaries, entertaining and educational programmes;
- Workshops for creative professionals, business meetings, press meetings and conferences accordant with orientation and aims of the Festival.
Various cultural and social events are offered to participants and guests of the Festival as well as to citizens and visitors of Znojmo according to framework of accompanying activities including National Days.
§8
Competing programmes should be entered by domestic or foreign TV, Radio and/or film companies, advertising agencies, promotion companies, TV, Radio and film producers, independent producers as well as authors themselves for the international competition. Only programmes complying with orientation, aims and technical requirements of the Festival can enter the competition.
Deadline for applications to the Festival's competition is always July 31st as listed in application form.
Programmes already presented at other Festivals either competitive or non-competitive can also register.
Only programmes broadcast or produced in last two years (calculated at January 1st of the current year) can be entered for the competition.
Applicant must be holder of manufacturer's rights, copyright or similar rights to the applied work.
In case of series, only up to three separate episodes of the series is possible to register.
Video materials for the competition shall be supplied on DVD preferably, else CD are accepted too. Audio materials can be supplied on any common media. Texts shall be in Czech, Slovak or English. If language of the footage is other than mentioned above, English subtitles or at least detailed description in English shall be included.
Applicant shall guarantee delivery of registered materials and accept liability for any loss or damage of medium during transport.
Applicant, by submitting the application, agrees to respect conditions laid down by these statutes and to follow guidelines of Festival body.
The Organizational Committee has right to reject a programme if not in compliance with the objectives and mission of the Festival. The Organization Committee has right to decide on categorization of programmes.
§9
Expert jury for individual category has 3 to 7 members and consists of prominent representatives of culture, media and business. Jury may have foreign members.
All juries shall be appointed by the Board of Directors of Znojemský Hrozen, o. p. s.
Each jury shall elect its chairman who represents the jury towards the Festival body.
Each jury shall draw up final report on its work signed by all members of the jury and pass it to the Festival Director immediately after competition screening or final session is finished.
Award of the Main Festival Prize, Znojemský Hrozen (The Znojmo Grape), and other cross category prizes shall be decided by all juries at their joint session.
§10
Scope of public screenings is determined by the Organizational Committee according to §7 of the statutes.
Non-competition programmes must be in compliance with same technical requirements as competition programmes and with aims and mission of the Festival.
